No data collected

BlockedBySquare does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or usage analytics. There are no accounts, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs.

100% offline

BlockedBySquare makes no network connections of any kind. Nothing leaves your Mac — ever.

Why it needs Accessibility access

macOS requires Accessibility access for any app that blocks keyboard and mouse input. BlockedBySquare uses it for two things only. When unlocked, it watches for your lock shortcut (⌘⇧L by default). When locked, it drops every key press and click, and only checks for the ESC key to release the lock. No key press is ever recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.

What is stored on your Mac

Only your settings (shortcut, phrases, colors, security mode), in the standard macOS preferences for the app. You can delete them at any time by deleting the app and its preferences.

Disclaimer & limitation of liability

BlockedBySquare is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages, loss, or consequences arising from the use of, or inability to use, the software — including any case where it malfunctions or does not perform exactly as expected. You use the app at your own risk.
